Detoxing and the Holidays

I have noticed how much detoxing has changed me!

With the holidays upon us, I have had opportunities to eat sugar and processed foods when out at parties and in making Christmas cookies.

Several days ago I had two slices of my walnut pumplin roll and the following day I didn't know if I was coming or going, I couldn't get anything done, and I felt very dicombobulated.

Thankfully I had waht I needed for my beet juice and promptly juiced up some beets, celery, carrots, parsley, ginger, and apple.

This past weekend I was at a Christmas gathering and had 5 swedish meatballs, a spoonful of frozen pea/carrots/corn mix, and tow spoonfuls of rice pilaf. That night I was plagued with bad dreams that left me crying and needing to be awoken by by wondering husband.

I also have noticed a deep crack in my lower lip, something I never get.

I don't know if these experiences are directly related to the food I ate, but I tend to think so.

This morning not only did I have my beet juice but I also made myself a tea of raw honey and the juice of one organic lemon. I also took a salt and soad bath complete with my aromatherapy detox blend...I look forward to a much better night.

Well, I am nearing the end of my thrid month of this detox phase.

There are so many possiblities out there about what is making this endocrine thing shourt circuit...

My TCM doc suggested that I wait until my hands and feet remain continually warm before I get retested. He believes my thyroid is malfunctioning due to a weak heart.

I just finished Phase Two of my Craniosacral Therapy training. CST theory believes a mashed pituitary gland due to vomer or temporal impaction or another kind of fascial restiction could be the cause. Considering the fact that I had a major accident that left me flying head first at a pretty high speed over the handle bars of my 10-speed when I was about 11 it stands to reason that there might be some impaction there.

Nonetheless, I am making a few Christmas cookies this season and I do plan on having just a few. I have really been looking for ward to them actually. Though I have found that with an altered diet, the things that I used to really love the taste of don't strike me the same way anymore.

My regime over the past several weeks/months

8/20/08 Got tested - TSH: 26; Chol: 238; LDL: 167; HDL: 42
Acupuncture 2x/wkTried to eat a lot of oatmeal w/ molasses

10/30/08 Got retested - TSH: 11; Chol: 11; LDL: 153 ; HDL: 37
Week 1:
-Acupuncture 2x/wk
-Liver detox with juicing
-Homeopathic Thyroid support remedy (2 tab/day)
-Salt and Soda baths daily (1C ea salt/soda)
-Electrical points
-Pilates
-AROMATHERAPY BLENDS...
Thyroid Blend (Apply to 2-3 drops to neck morning and night):
Myrtle(20), Lemongrass(10), Nutmeg(10), Clove(6), Ledum(6)

Water Suppliment (10 drops Blend/10 drops of Stevia): Lemon(10), Peppermint(10), Spearmint(10)


Week 2:
-Acupuncture 2x/wk
-Liver detox with juicing
-Homeopathic Thyroid support remedy (1 tab/day)
-Salt and Soda baths daily (1C ea salt/soda)

Detox Blend (Apply 2-3 drops to feet at night)
Rosemary (30), Thyme (20), Roman Chamomile (10), German Chamomile (10)

Constipation Blend (Apply 2-3 drops along digestive tract in sun and moon fashion)
Fennel (30), Sweet Orange (30), Nutmeg (10), Black Pepper (10), Marjoram (10)

Thyroid Blend (Apply to 2-3 drops to neck morning and night): Myrtle(20), Lemongrass(10), Nutmeg(10), Clove(5), Ledum

Water Drops (2-3 drops Blend/10 drops of Stevia):

Weeks 3-8:
-saw endocrinologist who suggested Synthroid as my remedy
-pursued Dr. Ni and traditional chinese medicine (take a tea made just for my body 2x/day)
-continuing detox baths approx every other night
-juicing 1 beet, 1 stalk celery, 2 carrots, 1 bunch parsley, 1 measure ginger, 1 apple every morning
-using water drops daily
-using thyroid blend when I use e-stimulation
-use detox blend un baths (not everytime but regularly)
-with exception of Thanksgiving I have continued eating basic UNPROCESSED foods
-was advised by Dr Ni to not seek acupuncture unless it is for pain or inability to sleep
-receiving massage or craniosacral every other week
-receiving chiropractic every other week
-Pilates at least 1x/week

I feel good.
I have been sleeping well.
MANY people have commented about the clarity of my skin and the silkiness of my hair.
I have lost upwards of 24 pounds.

Weeks 8-12 (Dec):
-continuing with samw regime as in 3-8
-doing a foot bath every other week (water is basically orange with white foam and MANY black flecks)
-scheduling a colonics appointment
-am pursuing having a sample sent to a lab for testing for parasites and bacteria
-scheduling a lymphatic drainage appt

The Diagnosis

This past Monday I was diagnosed with hashimoto's Disease/Hypothyroidism.

Yeah, I know "everyone has it" but I have never been the type to do what others are doing. And I am not planning to start now!!

As a LMT and retired teacher who has an insatiatble desire to learn and be healthy, I am on a quest to overcoming.

I welcome constructive ideas that have been personal successes for you, should you have any to share. I would prefer to hear it "right from the horses mouth" so to speak. Do you have a tip for strenghtening health that has worked FOR YOU to defeat Hashimoto's Disease or hypothyroidism? I am all ears.
